How can you be affected by the virus?
The virus COVID-19 transmits through direct contact. This means by touching the infected person or breathing in the droplets from cough or sneezes from him/her. You can also be infected if you touch an infected surface, as there are chances you will put the same hands on your face and nose. People with weak immunity, aged people, and one with medical conditions like asthma, diabetes, and heart problems are at higher risk.
What are the symptoms?
The symptoms of this virus are very mild or almost negligible during the initial stage. Later it shows symptoms like cough, runny nose, fever, sore throat, weakness, and pneumonia. If you get sick, it doesn’t mean you have COVID-19, as there could be other reasons too. Don’t panic in this situation.
What precautions you should take?
- Wash your hands with soap frequently or use an alcohol-based sanitizer.
- Cover your mouth and nose while coughing or sneezing.
- Avoid touching surfaces.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Maintain a distance of at least 1 meter from everyone.
- Clean your house with disinfectants.
- Stay at home.
- Wear a mask only if you are sick or taking care of a sick person.
